The Accreditation Assistance Access Centre (AAAC) is a centre with two locations, in Vaughan and Scarborough, that was created by a not-for-profit social organization to assist foreign-trained professionals obtain their proper certification in Canada. For example, foreign-trained engineers would be advised as to which courses to take and which degrees to pursue to obtain the Canadian equivalent to their foreign engineering degree.
I created a layout with a three-tiered menu system to organize the vast amounts of text-based content writeups the AAAC provided. This menu system is traversible by users and search engines alike.
I added the initial content to the website, and is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the content on the website, once supplied to me by the client.
The aaacentre.ca website features a custom database to organize all of the site's content.
I developed a custom website search engine which would gather user input and not only present the user with results, but would rank those results in reverse order of relevancy using a unique mathematical formula. The engine would even show the user where the search terms appeared in the results, whether the terms were in the title of the document or the body.
The search engine is able to return complete, relevant, topical results in a much larger number of cases than most internal site search engines.
The two locations are displayed using Google Maps.
I am responsible for the ongoing online website promotion of aaacentre.ca.
The Accreditation Assistance Access Centre website is widely accepted as a useful tool for foreign-trained professionals who wish to find general information on how they can gain equivalent Canadian accreditation.
Due in part to the success of the website and the number of other websites that link to it, the AAAC was able to expand from a single centre in Thornhill to two centres in Vaughan and Scarborough; future expansion plans are presently being discussed.
