Budget Kitchen Refacing is a subsidiary kitchen refacing company formed to provide cost-conscious consumers with an inexpensive kitchen refacing alternative. Their website was also cost-conscious.
Web Design Needs
Budget Kitchen Refacing is a subsidiary company that was formed based on the success of parent Award Kitchen Rerfacers. Award management approached me with the idea of "stripping down" the Award website and presenting a low-cost, standardized alternative to kitchen refacing.
How I Met Those Needs
Logo
Before I started work on the website, I created a simplied version of the Award logo based on pencil and paper sketches the client provided me.
Website Design
I created a layout for the Budget website, also based on paper and pencil sketches and modifications to the Award website provided by the client.
Website Promotion
I am responsible for the online promotion of the Budget website.
Successes
I was able to design a cost-effective series of online and offline marketing materials, from the logo to the website, and Budget was able to create a presence online and offline for the cost-conscious kitchen refacing consumer.
An unusual but positive side effect occurred as a result of the Budget website. The consumers who wanted a "budget" kitchen originally were able to compare materials and quality of both a standard (Budget) kitchen and a custom (Award) kitchen; most of the consumers who were looking for a standard kitchen found that they preferred the customization that Award kitchens provided and Award business increased significantly as a result.
