In February of 2011, a client of mine with whom I had worked on several websites approached me with a partnership proposal. He wanted to build a website to provide information to the growing North American hot rod community. The proposed website would work in a similar fashion as my Strike Spots website; the website would allow people to submit content for free and sustain itself through advertising through various channels .
I designed a logo from scratch to be used online and offline.
Based on the design of the logo, I then came up with a layout. The layout was revised and improved several times throughout this process.
I also incorporated a three-tiered menu into this layout to accommodate the variety and volume of information that would be compiled for this site. The first tier comprises the major sections, and the second and third tiers are combined into large menus for ease of navigation.
I developed a database from scratch and revised it as I developed the various sections of the site.
This site was developed using an SQL Server 2008 database with several modifications to increase the speed and efficiency of the database.
Using the ASP.NET framework, I developed the various sections of the site and catered those sections to the hot rod community.
I am responsible for the addition of content in several portions of this website.
I am responsible for promoting this website via various online channels.
I was able with my partner to develop a customized portal using proprietary code and technology based on the ASP.NET framework, and we launched the site on July 1, 2011. This site contains several unique features that allow users to upload their content at no charge.
