Renovation Tour is a directory website listing Ontario home service providers.
Web Design Needs
A client of mine, looking to diversify their income sources, approached me in December of 2008 with an idea. They wanted to take an existing database that they had developed of company public domain information and create a website from it.
How I Met Those Needs
Website Design
I created a wholly original layout that is clean, easy to use and search engine friendly. Users of the site comment frequently on how simple and clean the layout is.
Logo
I created a logo and colour scheme from scratch.
Database Redesign/Development
I was able to take the existing database, remove all of the information that was not relevant to the website idea, and restructure and optimize the data for use with the Renovation Tour website.
Google Maps
Google Maps has been integrated into the site for both individual events in the "Renovation Calendar" section and individual company profiles in the company section, with a custom house icon indicating the event or company location.
Successes
Renovation Tour was created from scratch, launched in March of 2009, and has already been approved by Google Adsense as an advertising network publisher. The client had discovered a new source of revenue.
