Search Engine Friendly Layouts, launched in February, 2006, is a pioneer website. No one had publicly discussed or established ways in which websites could be developed for both users and search engines until this website was launched.
Web Design Needs
Many webmasters were looking for ways in which to optimize their websites for search engines without hurting the user experience in any way. There were very few, if any, web designers or developers that had achieved success and were willing to share any information on this topic.
How I Met Those Needs
Logo
I created a logo from scratch for this website.
Website Design
The Search Engine Friendly Layouts website posed a unique layout challenge in that the layout of the site had to change in order to reflect the type of layout that was shown at the time.
I was able to come up with a means to present the different layouts and still maintain user friendliness.
Database Development
All of the layouts are stored in a customized database.
Website Promotion
I am responsible of some of the promotion for Search Engine Friendly Layouts. The site is such a valuable resource, however, that many web designers share it with their friends and colleagues and do much of the promotional work for me!
Successes
Search Engine Friendly Layouts has been widely regarded as a useful and valuable resource to the web design community ever since its launch. It has been written about and referenced in various web design blogs and articles as a new standard for website coding.
Google was so impressed by this website that it was approved for Adsense just 13 minutes after I sent in the application!
