Libreria Pan de Vida is a successful Spanish Christian book and music store. Products are sold online via the website and offline to customers all over the world.
Web Design Needs
Libreria Pan de Vida is a Toronto-based Spanish-Christian book and music store. In 2002, Libreria Pan de Vida had a vision to sell its CDs, books, videos and tapes online and attract a Canada-wide audience. They needed someone that could fulfill their vision and create a simple, yet effective website that would serve as one of the more popular sites in a niche market. I was that someone.
How I Met Those Needs
Website Design
I created a layout that would organize the key content along the left side while using the center and right side to focus on products and related information.
Database Development
A database was developed to store product and order information and I subsequently populated it with 350 products to get the site started.
Self-Administration Section
A login-and-password-based self-administration section was developed to allow Libreria Pan de Vida the opportunity to add, edit, and delete products and categories and review orders at their convenience.
Flash Banners with Rotation
A section was set up using the Macromedia Flash animation technology and non-Flash programming to present banners promoting individual products in a random order. Every 30 seconds, a banner is randomly selected from the list of available banners.
E-Commerce with PayPal
This website is integrated with PayPal for online payment processing.
Successes
Libreria Pan de Vida has been a tremendous success, and one of the sites which I am proudest of. It generates attention, traffic, and interest from a truly global marketplace due to its vast international product line, including unique Christian products and services which are very hard to find. Orders are placed from all over the world, and demand for the products is very high.
